Laith is an economics graduate, qualified in adult counselling
and guidance, and post-16 teaching.
Laith is currently part of the LAPD within brap developing
and delivering a variety of equality related learning programmes, the most
recent of which had its focus on refuge integration issues as part of the
mainstreaming agenda within the Birmingham City Council housing department.
Laith spent a number of years in a community liaison
capacity with particular responsibility for developing programmes aimed at
supporting community enterprises and small businesses. His role incorporated
business counselling/advice and training in the areas of marketing and business
planning.
An experienced tutor in the areas of local
economics/community development, teacher training and access to FE/HE, with
responsibilities for curriculum development at the Sparkhill/Sparkbrook
community college in Birmingham. He has tutored on leadership and management programmes
specifically aimed at supporting the BME voluntary sector.
