Xnet
Xnet consists of a 'virtual' network of members, designed to build a critical mass of individuals enabling networking and collaboration, as well as a 'real world' network, which will form the basis of four Equality Action Zones that are being developed across Birmingham.
The Equality Action Zones will initially be piloted in four Districts; Sparkbrook, Northfield, Erdington and Hall Green/Selly Oak. The activities of the Zones will be based around developing and facilitating an effective means of consulting with communities on contentious issues, and most importantly, developing solutions for partners in the city to implement.
Whilst the pilots are restricted to those Districts listed, it is anticipated that the 'issues' that arise can be related to a broader citywide perspective. Thus some of the work in these specific areas will seek to draw upon 'intelligence' and data that is gathered from across the city.
Once you have joined, you will receive a password and user name, which will enable you to search the directory for other members and the services they offer.
If you would like to know how to become more involved with Xnet, and particularly with the development of the Equality Action Zones in the pilot Districts, then please contact:
