Routes to Opportunity - R2O

What is R2O?

In 2007, Advantage West Midlands appointed brap to manage the Routes to Opportunity programme (R2O) – the first programme of its kind in the region – which aims to improve the ability of BME third sector organisations to access and successfully deliver public sector contracts. This is the second year of the programme and we want to attract more organisations that can take advantage of the R2O offer.

LIFT

Leadership * Impact * Forward Thinking * Tackling Inequalities

The LIFT programme aims to support BME Third Sector organisations to become more sustainable and address inequalities as a collaborative sector.

It offers in-house support, specifically tailored to address the needs of the BME Third Sector, in the following areas:

Leadership - to develop the sector’s leadership skills in order to identify strategic opportunities for both influence and funding.

Impact - to help the sector measure the quality of its work and its social impact and need.

Forward Thinking - to help the sector build its capacity, through administrative and contractual management support.

Tackling Inequalities - to help empower the sector to work collaboratively in order to address the issues of inequalities.

Speak Out

We’re looking for modern views about what it means to live in modern Birmingham.

Outside of London, Birmingham is one of the country's most 'diverse' cities. It is also a city with one of the biggest gaps between the 'haves' and the 'have-nots'. We want to know what this means to you.

Every three months Speak Out will deliver a magazine packed with articles, stories, poems, photographs and comment, and to do this we need your help.

Networks

brap nurtures a number of networks, which help people connect to each other and grow in both the understanding and skills needed to improve outcomes for all members of society. We offer a range of services to front line voluntary organisations, we work with 'excluded' groups, such as women and young people, offer events, seminars and information exchange - all with the aim of connecting people with the opportunities that they deserve.
