Birmingham's leading equalities and human rights charity brap is delighted to announce the appointment of Jonathan Driffill, Managing Director of Friendship Care and Housing, as its new Chair.

Jonathan said: "I'm extremely pleased to be appointed brap's new Chair.

"Ever since I've been involved with brap I've been impressed with its innovative and cutting edge solutions to tackling equality problems. brap has been at the forefront of applying human rights principles to make service delivery better, and I’m looking forward to helping them stay ahead of the game."

“This is a period of great change for communities and organisations and I firmly believe no one is better placed than brap to help them make that change.”

Joy Warmington, CEO of brap, said: “Having recently celebrated our tenth anniversary, I’m very happy to embark on a brand new decade with someone of Jonathan’s energy at the helm.

“brap’s focus is not just to help people and organisations meet the equality challenges they currently face, but to lead the field in building a society that is sustainably fair, equitable, and inclusive. Jonathan brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge from the housing sector that will help us accomplish this.

“We’ve achieved a lot in our first ten years, but we’re ambitious to achieve even more. Jonathan’s leadership skills will be central to that.”

A graduate of Birmingham City University and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Housing, Jonathan has been Managing Director of Friendship Care and Housing for five years. He was previously Corporate Director for Housing and Neighbourhoods where he was responsible for managing Friendship’s locality based housing services, neighbourhood renewal and strategy and regeneration. During the 13 years he’s been at Friendship Care and Housing, Jonathan has built a reputation for his dogged determination in regenerating and transforming neighbourhoods, estates, and communities.
