brap learning
brap supports organisational development processes by working directly with leaders, managers and staff to understand how to apply equality within their respective roles. Our products include tailor-made training and development, mentoring programmes for leaders, equality management programmes, in-house staff training, and one-off seminars on a range of topics, from legislation to 'softer' issues. We produce training resources and tools, which help acquire the understanding necessary to implement effective equality practice.
brap's approach to staff / professional development is one that avoids a tokenistic, tick the box programme of training. Our aim is to illustrate and explore the degree of staff competence and confidence necessary not only to provide a firm framework for organisational change, but also to engender the development of mechanisms, systems, policies and practices that will sustain on-going reflection and development in relation to race equality.
Via both our staff / professional / organisational development programmes and consultative work we encourage organisations to: consider and evaluate their historical and current positions in relation to race equality, based upon the evidence available; to reflect upon their approach to change management and how equality is both integrated and mainstreamed within such an agenda; and to explore the opportunities, barriers and challenges inherent in the pursuit of equality.
