What is
R2O? In 2007, Advantage West Midlands
appointed brap to manage the Routes to Opportunity programme (R2O) – the first programme of its kind in the region
– which aims to improve the ability of BME third sector organisations to access
and successfully deliver public sector contracts. This is the second year of the
programme and we want to attract more organisations that can take advantage
of the R2O offer.
Who is R2O for? R2O is for any
BME owned, managed or focused organisation with social aims, such as charities,
voluntary and community organisations or social enterprises. Organisations must
be located in the West
Midlands and must be involved in the delivery of, or
have aspirations to deliver, public sector contracts and services.
What does R2O do?
R2O delivers
intensive, customised support which is designed to leave organisations better
equipped to deliver and procure with the public sector. Typical packages of
support include help with finances, system development, business planning,
policies and procedures, market analysis and leadership and governance. The
support is negotiated with an approved consultant and delivered directly to the
organisation. Because the work is ‘bespoke’ – unique to your organisation – it
has a high level of satisfaction and is producing some excellent results. R2O is not a grant programme, and cannot make
financial awards directly to organisations.
What else does R2O
offer?
R2O has a programme of one-off events
covering issues such as full cost recovery, tendering, marketing and impact. We
also offer a leadership mentoring programme and an opportunity to network and
form stronger partnerships with other BME organisations in the region.
