Just been speaking to local residents about what they see as some of the key cohesion issues for the area. It was an interesting conversation, with many people saying that there was a lack of a shared, central space for all the different communities in the area to come together. One person claimed Hall Green is 'just too big' to be cohesive, while someone else suggested that cohesion has been an issue for the area for the past 30-odd years. The issue then, as now, he claimed, was that you have two ends of the Stratford Rd ‘that won’t come together’.
He also said that if we haven’t solved these issue in 30 years we probably never will. Which isn't exactly what we wanted to hear, but still: we'll see what we can do.
If you have thoughts on this - or would like to get involved with Pushing the Boundaries - let us now. Because we can't still be discussing this in 30 years time.
