Pushing the Boundaries is coming to Sparkhill!
Sparkhill has always been a destination for immigrants. For many, this diversity is one of the things they love about the area. Others, however, have concerns: schools organised along religious lines and community groups and shops that cater for particular ethnic groups can make some people feel excluded.
So, is Sparkhill a fair place to live that is open to everybody? Are our schools and our local public services responding to the needs of our diverse community?
We’re inviting you to take part in an open, honest discussion about these issues and other things you think are important. We’d like to extend a particular invitation to people living and working in Sparkhill who might not have come to an event like this before. It should be a fun and lively discussion and people will be supported and encouraged to get their views across.
Food and drinks will be available on arrival. Iftar will also be available for people to take away with them to break their fast later in the evening.
